Description
These Chocolate Chips Cookie Bars are gooey and golden brown. The best part? Making them in a pan takes out so much time of scooping dough for individual cookies.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for additional topping
Instructions
- Grease and line a 8″x8″ metal baking pan with parchment paper so that some is hanging over the edge. This will make it easy to lift the cookie bars out of the pan. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugars and melted butter until combined. The mixture will be thick. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix with a spatula until just combined. Add in the chocolate chips and mix until combined.
- Spread the cookie dough into the prepared pan so it’s in an even layer. Then sprinkle an extra handful of chocolate chips on top and gently press them into the dough a little bit.
- Bake at 350° F for around 35 minutes. The top will be golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Let the pan cool on a wire rack before removing the cookie from the pan and cutting.
