Chocolatey and rich but not too sweet, these Fudgy Brownies are so so delicious. We’ll use a semi-sweet chocolate bar, and unsweetened cocoa powder, and even chocolate chips, so if you’re needing your chocolate fix, these are for you.
The best part is that these can be done in under an hour. Just think, this could be all yours so soon..
We’ll start out with melting the butter and some of the semi-sweet chocolate bar. Then give that and the sugar a very good whisk for about 30-60 seconds. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla and then the flour, unsweetened cocoa power, and salt. Lastly, we’ll add in the chocolate chips, and we’re already ready to pop it into the oven!
Once they’re out of the oven, try to resist the temptation to cut into the right away. Let them cool a bit before cutting and eating.
If you have leftovers, you can pop them back in the microwave for a few seconds to get the chocolate warm, melted, and gooey again. Maybe even top it with vanilla ice cream. That would be absolute perfection.
Before you know it, you’ll be down to just one left.
Some ingredients notes
Semi-sweet chocolate bar – I like to use the Baker’s brand, but use whichever you’d like. Using a bar like this makes it easy to measure out the exact ounces that you’re melting.
Chocolate chips – Feel free to substitute for your preferred type of chocolate chips or even a chopped up bar.
Tips
- Use a metal baking pan if you’re able to. If using a glass pan, it’ll probably take longer to bake.
- Lining the baking pan with parchment paper makes it so easy to remove the brownies from the pan before cutting and serving.
- When melting the butter and chocolate, make sure to do this in short intervals and keep an eye on it. Otherwise, it may pop in the microwave (this seems to happen to me too often).
- The brownies will be done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs attached. It shouldn’t be wet with batter, but it also shouldn’t be completely clean, so don’t overbake!
- For clean cuts, use a long, sharp knife and cut down across the brownies in one stroke. Wipe it off between each slice. No more messy edges!
